Our Constitution is the Deed of Trust which determines what the Hall should be used for. It also defines the responsibilities and composition of the Trustees and the Committee that look after the Hall. The link takes you to a published transcription of the Deed of Trust: th eoriginal Deed of Trust is held by the Hall’s Lawyers.
The Deed of Trust is lodged with the Scottish Charity register (OSCR) as our Constitution.
In addition to the Deed of Trust, the Committee ihas a second document, The Rules and Regulations for the Conduct of Business by the Heiton Village Hall Committee, which sets out in more detail how the Committee will go about its work. This document is subservient to the Deed of Trust, but provides more detail and reflects changes that have taken place since the Deed of Trust was drawn up.
